The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud! 🌾

Hi beautiful people,

It was almost time to head back to Bandung but before that we decided to enjoy our last 2 days in Ubud to have pure quitness and 100% relaxation.

I was only one time in Ubud so this would be the 2nd time for me to visit Ubud. I was doing researches in the internet about hotels when I came across "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud".

The beautiful photos and the perfect reviews made me direct fall in love with it so we decided to stay there for our last 2 nights in Bali to have a perfect finale of our vacation.

We arrived around 1 pm at the resort and had a very warm welcome from everybody, even the GM came to say hello to wish us a good stay, that was a very nice touch.

"The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" like its name says is about "gajah" = "elephants" so everwhere you can see statues of elephants.

"The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" is an absolute Luxury Resort, you get that feeling from the first second. Every guest gets their own private butler who accompany you over your whole stay, we had the super nice Yuni as our butler.

First thing she did was showing us around with a caddy, which was really interesting as "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" was a private estate of Hendra Hadiprana from Jakarta before they turned it into such a luxurious resort.

He still has his own villa at the resort in case he wants to come there to enjoy the beauty of "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud".

"The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" consists of 7 "One Bedroom Suites" (70sqm), 9 "One Bedroom Pool Villas" (280sqm), 3 "Family Villa" (210sqm) and 1 "The Hadiprana Villa" (570sqm).

We were lucky enough to get one of these amazing "One Bedroom Pool Villa"!

I can tell you one thing: They are outstanding!

So Yuni escorted us to our Villa and gave us a full tour of it and explained us every feature.

The villa was something I never experienced before - you have maximum privacy, a 8 metres long pool surrounded by hand-craved wood furnishings and original Balinese artwork.

It is furnished with padded loungers, a cosy bale for dining and a daybed for relaxing to the fullest.

The villa offers a bath of heaven with an indoor shower and an outdoor bathtub.

They entertain guest with an iPod docking station, already providing an iPod with hundreds of songs. We always played the playlist with the balinese songs, simply beautiful!

The furniture inside is as amazing as outside, the mini bar with juices and soft drinks is completely free! They have a coffee station, a selection of teas and one more thing what I never saw anywhere in any hotel. They offer free alcoholic drinks, it was Vodka, Gin and Whiskey if I'm not wrong.

Me and Elisa are not drinking alcohol so we didn't use it but for someone who likes to drink a glass at the evening this is a very generous touch.

Our Villa had the best spot, it is surrounded by rice fields. Unfortunately the time we visited "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" the rice were just newly planted so it didn't look as beautiful as normally but still so peaceful.

If you want to go outside of your villa there is the big public pool where you can enjoy the sun from morning until afternoon.

The high standard of "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" was remarkable, if you decide to lay on one of the sun loungers one of the so friendly staff direct comes to you to prepare your lounger with two towels, sun protection lotion, facial mist and a cup of ice cold water.

Service is clearly No.1 at "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud"! At 4pm you can enjoy the Afternoon Tea at your Villa, the Bird Lounge, the Restaurant or at the Pool.

We decided to have it next to the pool, you get a selection of canapés and sweet treats something for everybody. Besides this you can order tea, coffee or like we did a smoothie.

The Restaurant at "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" is surrounded by all the rice fields, a breathtaking location!

The first evening we were invited to the Balinese Kecak Dance & Dinner Evening, it started with the famous „Kecak Fire Dance“ at the Amphiteather performed beautifully by local people.

We enjoyed our Evening Mocktail with a few snacks while watching.

The evening then continued with an amazing Balinese Dinner with some of the most famous dishes, it was wonderful.

Your breakfast you can enjoy at your villa or at the restaurant. We tried both and really ejoyed it, there might be no buffet but that’s not a problem at all as the "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" offers an immense selection of beverages & food for breakfast.

You can choose indonesian dishes as well as western dishes with juices, smoothies, tea, coffee, fruits, desserts, really everything!

And the best thing is, there’s no limit…eat as much as you wish there’s no restriction of only 2/3 meals.

For me as an athlete who like to keep myself fit even on my days off, the fitness of "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" offers enough to have a really good work out. Besides a gym, they have a Yoga-Room, a tennis court and of course a Spa to have a treatment afterwards.

I also had a good workout at the Villa as it is so spacious that it is perfect to do my exercises beside the pool.

Every day except Sunday if I’m not wrong they offer free Yoga from 8am to 9.30am at a beautiful big wooden-bungalow under instruction of an experienced teacher.

Last but not least I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody at "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" for their kindness.

The staff were amazing, especially our butler Yuni did everything to make us feel home.

We really felt welcome from the first minute and like a new member of the big „Chedi Club Family“ - big thank you to everyone.

The goodbye was amazing as everybody showed up to say Goodbye and were available for a nice photo.

Another nice touch was the present we got from the GM as he handed us a pack of original „Chedi Club Rice“ from their ricefields.

We will definitely try it and Elisa will cook her best „Nasi Goreng“.

Thank you so much "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud" for this wonderful stay! We really enjoyed and had a perfect time, it's always an honour and a pleasure staying with you. I hope in the near future we will meet again!

Here's a video and a photo-gallery of our experiences at the "The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, Ubud". I hope you enjoy reading this as much as we did staying there!
